We have a real treat for music fans this month as we welcome our speaker Mimi Waitzman, who is the curator of musical instruments at the Horniman Museum. Born in the USA, Mimi studied Music at McGill University in Montreal and the University of Michigan. In the eighties she co-founded a partnership in the UK making and repairing early keyboard instruments. She was curator of the National Trust collection of early keyboard instruments at Fenton House in North London for 28 years before joining the Horniman in 2009. Mimi is an entertaining speaker. The real story as to how she chose her career path and all that has happened along the way will keep until Thursday. Members are welcome to arrive from 7 pm for a drink and a chat and our formal meeting will start at 7.30pm.
